My Experience
I trained locally in Southern California, where I attended UC Irvine and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After graduating from Loma Linda Universiy Medical School, I completed my residency in Psychiatry and fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Southern California.
About My Practice
I work with children, adolescents, and adults to enable them to live their lives to their fullest. The mind and body are two parts of a whole, and what affects one will affect the other. Good nutrition, exercise, getting rest and recreation, and avoiding harmful habits form a foundation on which to build good health. I often hear complaints that physicians have become “pill pushers”. While I believe that medication is an important component of treatment, it is only one building block in whole-person care. I am also involved with clinical research, have lectured at medical conferences, and have extensive experience in sleep medicine. …More recently, I have been intrigued by the fact that pets have a calming effect on anxiety disorders, and have brought Binx, our young black cat, into the office much to the delight of children of all ages (and aren’t we all children).
