Dr. Shane L. Martin, MD

Dr. Shane Martin is a nationally recognized expert in Robotic-Assisted Joint Replacement and is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  He is best known for his compassionate care combined with outstanding treatment results and surgical outcomes.  Patients commend his professionalism and impeccable bedside manner.
Dr. Martin is committed to serving the community by regularly volunteering his time and skills to help the uninsured regain their mobility.  He also has a passion for teaching and is a member of the Stryker medical education faculty, training surgeons worldwide on robotic surgical techniques. He consults for industry leaders working on the design and development of innovative techniques and products.
Dr. Martin is a leader in outpatient joint replacement surgery and has pioneered protocols that enable his patients to return home within hours of surgery. These fast track protocols can allow healthy patients a quicker return to work …and activities with less pain than traditional methods.
He is committed to treating his patients with the latest technologies available in his field which is crucial in helping patients get back to their lives quicker, reducing down time and increasing the speed of recovery.
As the Director of the Joint Replacement Center of Scottsdale, Dr. Martin works with an exceptional and compassionate team whose goal is to provide the best care possible. This leads to high quality, unparalleled treatment and the best possible surgical and non-surgical outcomes after treatment.
Dr. Martin is a participating provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield and TRICARE.  In an effort to make our services more accessible to patients who hold insurance plans that may not be in our network, we also accept out-of-network insured patients for surgical consultations and procedures.  Dr. Martin welcomes patients with Medicare insurance.  While he may not be a participating provider in the Medicare program, he believes in offering accessible and comprehensive surgical services to all patients, including those with Medicare coverage.  Although Medicare patients are required to pay a fee for Dr. Martin’s services, all other expenses associated with their care, including hospitalization, anesthesia, assistant surgeon, physical therapy, radiology, home health services, and labs are covered by their Medicare, secondary and supplemental plans.
