Dr. Shelden L. Martin

Dr. Shelden L. Martin is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and shoulder, elbow and knee surgery. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery and subspecialty certified in sports medicine. He is a member of OrthoArizona and serves as the Head Team Physician for the AFL Arizona Rattlers and Associate Team Physician for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Coyotes, and Chicago White Sox as well as several local high schools. He obtained his undergraduate degree at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA, followed by medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He then completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine & shoulder/elbow surgery with OrthoCarolina at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. He has worked with professional, collegiate, and high school athletic teams, …including the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Knights, Joe Gibbs Racing team, the University of North Carolina. Dr. Martin utilizes the most advanced techniques in shoulder and elbow arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery, as well as knee ligament reconstruction and cartilage transplant procedures. He specializes in primary and revision shoulder replacement surgery, including the reverse shoulder replacement. His research has been presented both nationally and internationally and published extensively in the peer-reviewed literature. Dr. Martin provides world-class patient care at Honor Healthcare, Arizona Orthopedic Surgical Hospital, OASIS hospital, Banner Desert Medical Center, and SurgCenter of Greater Phoenix.
