Dr. Steven Bleckner earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He later attained his medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He continued his training with Residencies in the Department of General Surgery and the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore. Dr. Bleckner was named Chief Resident of Orthopaedic Traumatology at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center of the University of Maryland Medical System. He then went on to complete an Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical System. Dr. Bleckner has served as a Team Physician for the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Bayhawks and various University of Maryland Terrapin athletic teams. Dr. Bleckner was named as a Castle Connelly Washington/Baltimore Top Doctor and a 2012 U.S. News & World Report top Orthopaedic Surgeon. …Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Bleckner has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including a Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Research Fellowship.
