Dr. Teresa Frances Kovarik, MD

My pediatric practice keeps both my mind and heart happy. Some of my greatest pleasure comes from routine well child-care and discussing childhood nutrition, development, behavior, etc. I feel this is time well spent as these are the building blocks for a healthy, happy, and emotionally secure child. In addition to being a primary care pediatrician, I have several other roles. I am the director of HealthPartners and Regions Hospital Center Lactation Services as well as the breastfeeding coordinator for the state chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. I am the Director of the Newborn Nursery at Regions. I also precept pediatric and med-peds residents every Wednesday afternoon in their Continuity Clinic here at Como clinic.
My family is the center of my life. We love doing anything that gets us outdoors and being active. Being a mother has helped me to be a better pediatrician, and the reverse is certainly true as well.
I attended medical school at the University of Virginia, …Charlottesville from 1979-1983. My residency in Pediatrics took place at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY between 1983-1986. I am a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine.
