Dr. Thomas Joseph Horn, MD

Thomas J. Horn, M.D. has been a member of Ventura Orthopedics since 1991. Born and raised in New Jersey, he attended New York University and graduated magna cum laude as a member of Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Classical Civilizations. He received his medical training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York and then remained at the University of Rochester Medical Center for an internship in general surgery. He continued his training in general surgery in Washington, D.C. at the George Washington University Medical Center and then completed his orthopedic surgery residency there in 1990. During his residency he published articles in orthopedic journals and was closely involved in the sports medicine programs for the District of Columbia High School Athletics Program and the George Washington University Department of Athletics.
After growing tired of the East Coast climate, Dr. Horn decided to head west for more …sunshine and warmer temperatures. He came to Ventura in 1990 and joined the Orthopedic Department of Buenaventura Medical Clinic. He soon moved his practice to Ventura Orthopedics where he specializes in general orthopedics, sports medicine, and reconstructive surgery. His interests include total joint replacements and arthroscopic surgery, including endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He currently serves as the Director of Operations for the Ventura Orthopedic Group. He is the director of Physical Therapy and has served as Chief of Surgery at Community Memorial Hospital. He also serves as team physician for the Ventura High School Football Program. He lives in Ventura with his wife and family, and likes to exercise, eat good food, and travel with his wife in his spare time.
