Graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL, with a Bachelor of Science in 1995. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL and then completed a four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He subsequently completed a three-year subspecialty fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he held a dual Clinical Instructor appointment. He is board-certified in both the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and also maintains advanced subspecialty certification in Gynecologic Oncology. Dr. Kirby’s interests include the surgical management and chemotherapy of all gynecologic malignancies as well as advanced pelvic surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive surgery. He joins Dr. Arango as one of the most experienced gynecologic surgeons in Florida with training in robotically assisted laparoscopic surgery. While at the …University of Alabama in Birmingham, he was the recipient of multiple teaching and research awards and was a recipient of the National Institute of Health’s Ruth L. Kirchstein National Research Service Award. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Foundation for Cancer from 2007 until 2011 and served on the Baycare Institutional Review Board until 2010. He is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, The Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, the American Society of Clinical Oncologists, the American Medical Association, and the Florida Society of Gynecologic Oncologists.
