Dr. Ved Aggarwal is driven in his work at the Texas Pain Institute by his ability to make a difference in each patient’s quality of life and help them go back to work to become productive members of society again. With a love of working with his hands, Dr. Aggarwal was first drawn to the anesthesiology and pain management field because of the intricate and tedious procedures he performs in the operating room. He received his Doctor of Medicine at the University College of Medical Sciences in India. He finished an internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai/Queens Hospital Center and an anesthesiology residency at Albert Einstein/ Montefiore Medical Center, both in New York. He completed a pain medicine fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore. Dr. Aggarwal knows healthcare has to be patient-centered. “Without active patient involvement or buy-in, the best treatment plans will be worthless.” When discussing medication management, he issues the minimum …amounts of narcotics available to keep patients functional. There are a number of treatments and technologies that are promising for the future of the pain management field. Dr. Aggarwal is excited by the advancements in spinal cord stimulation, implantable technology, and long-acting local anesthetics. In Dr. Aggarwal’s downtime, he enjoys reading and gardening.
