Dr. Victor Benezra, MD

Victor Benezra, MD is board certified by the American College of OB/GYN. He graduated from the University of Miami with Honors. He received his medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Jersey, in 2000. He completed his residency in OB/GYN at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital where upon completion in 2004, Dr. Benezra was honored by his professors and peers with the “Most Outstanding Teacher” award.
Dr. Benezra is a specialist in performing laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. He has published numerous studies in peer review journals and has presented studies and case reports at annual conferences for both the American College of OB/GYN and the American College of Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Benezra is the past Chairman of the OB/GYN Department at Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne and is a past member of the Health First Health Plan physician advisory committee.
His practice focuses on treatment of abnormal uterine …bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, contraception, HPV and abnormal pap smears, pelvic prolapse, and urinary incontinence.
In addition to his general OB/GYN practice, Dr. Benezra specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including both advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. He is a certified DaVinci Robotic Surgeon and has special interest is laparoscopic hysterectomies and endometrial ablations. He has performed over 1,500 laparoscopic surgeries and is one of the first gynecologists to perform robotic-assisted hysterectomies using the DaVinci Robotic Surgery in Brevard County.
Dr. Benezra has been performing Endometrial/Uterine Ablations since 2000. He offers Gynecare Thermachoice Uterine Balloon Therapy, Her Option Cryoablation procedures, and Novasure Uterine Abalations. He routinely performs these office-based procedures in an effort to control (or eliminate) menstrual periods in most women without surgery or hormones.
