Dr. Vikramjit Singh Gill, MD

I have been practicing as a Psychiatrist since 2007. I completed my Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.) at the Government Medical College in Patiala, India in 1996. Following an internship, I worked as a primary care physician in Punjab, India, until I began a residency at West Virginia University Hospitals in July 2004. I served as the Chief Resident of the Psychiatry program at West Virginia University. In 2007, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Minority Fellowship Selection and Advisory Committee selected me to be a 2007-2008 APA Minority Fellow. I went on to complete an additional fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the department of neurology at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. I have a special interest in Neuropsychiatry – especially traumatic brain injury and pain medicine. I am Board-Certified in Adult Psychiatry and Board-Eligible in Sleep Medicine. I have worked as a consultant in the United States and in Canada for several multispecility hospitals and …outpatient practices. It gives me a unique perspective in the treatment of mental health issues based on my experience in dealing with different cultures and health systems. l see a wide array of clients, including children as young as four years old. I have a special expertise and interest in reducing and consolidating psychiatric medicines in patients on multiple medicines. My areas of expertise include ADHD, Adult and Childhood Mood disorders, Adult and Childhood Bipolar disoder and Depression, Anxiety disorders, and anger management. I also have an additional expertise in managment of sleep disorders.
