Dr. Viroon Donavanik, MD

Dr. Donavanik earned a science degree and premedicine degree from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand; and a medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Mahidol University, also in Bangkok. He completed his internship at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidod University; a general practice residency at Central Hospital Bangkok; a rotating internship at St. Clare’s Hospital, Schenectady, NY; and a therapeutic radiology residency at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology, he joined Christiana Care’s Department of Radiation Oncology in 1979. He is presently a senior radiation oncologist with special interests in prostate brachytherapy.
Dr. Donavanik is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiology and the American Brachytherapy Society. He was a visiting instructor for the School of Radiologic …Technology at Gwynedd Mercy College, Gwynedd Valley, PA., as well as on the teaching faculty at Christiana Care’s School of Radiologic Technology. Dr. Donavanik has published, in collaborative effort, articles on gynecologic malignancies, laryngeal cancer and prostate cancer. He is one of the most experienced prostate brachytherapists in the Mid-Atlantic states.
