Dr. Yount was graduated from the University of Wisconsin with highest honors in medical science (Phi Eta Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Beta Kappa) and from its medical school with highest honors (Alpha Omega Alpha, Roche Award, Bleckmann award). He served as Resident in Medicine and Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital and as a Commander in the United States Public Health Service Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed additional training in Immunology Research and Fellowship and then Assistant Professor at the Rockefeller University, NY, NY. He founded the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he continues to Teach and Consult in Allergy and Immunology and Rheumatology.
