Elizabeth Kelly, MSN, ARNP-BC
I graduated from Illinois State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As a registered nurse I worked in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department at Northwestern Memorial in Chicago for 10 years.
A passion for caring for vulnerable populations led me to apply and work with the international aid organization Doctors Without Borders where I worked in both Ethiopia and Malawi.
I obtained my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2012 and I’m a Board Certified Adult Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. I took a position at Sinai Chicago seeing patients in surrounding nursing homes and clinics in 2013.
During my time working in primary care I have observed significant deficits in access to quality mental health care for both the geriatric and adult populations including patients with dementia, major depressive disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and substance use …disorder. I’ve become focused on helping fill in those gaps in care.
So often medications are quickly prescribed to manage complex issues that need an interdisciplinary and holistic approach. I obtained my buprenorphine waiver to help contribute to a solution of the opiate crisis which I have seen devastate the lives of people of all ages, race and socioeconomic backgrounds. I believe in utilizing “all the tools in the box” to help people reach their mental health and relationship goals.
I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughters, and Golden Retriever Charlie.
