GERD or Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease. "Gastro" means the stomach and Esophageal means the esophagus, the tube that carries food from your mouth to your stomach. Reflux means to back-up or flow backwards. People that suffer from GERD usually have acid, bile and partially-digested food in the stomach back up into their esophagus.
