Akwetey Akrong, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified adult psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner at Reverence Behavioral Health Services in Oak Brook, Illinois. Mr. Akrong takes a holistic approach to psychiatric care, helping his patients discover their strengths to achieve better mental health. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois, Mr. Akrong completed his Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. Akrong works with adolescents and adults struggling with mental health conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and psychotic disorders, to name a few. A Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Akrong gained a lot of experience evaluating and treating a wide range of mental health disorders while working with veterans at an inpatient facility.
