After graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Lopez received her medical degree and completed her residency in pediatrics at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas where she was also honored as intern of the year and, later, resident of the year. Dr. Lopez completed her fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science and Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, Prior to joining Children’s Critical Care Specialists, Dr. Lopez was an assistant professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and pediatric ECMO director at Christus Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital. Dr. Lopez is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine.
