Dr. Akhilesh Sastry, MD

After completing his residency at Drexel University/Hahnemann Hospital, Dr. Sastry spent an additional year of training in Baltimore completing a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction. This year focused on dealing with complex hip and knee reconstructive procedures including the direct anterior hip replacement. Currently, Dr. Sastry performs this procedure exclusively in the seacoast area. This operation allows the surgeon to perform the replacement without detaching the muscles around the hip which can lead to a faster recovery. It is so rewarding to see patients recover as quickly as they do with this procedure.
