Alan J. Ker, D.D.S., M.S. – “Dr. AJ”, Orthodontist
Dr. AJ Ker was born in Buffalo, NY and raised in Troy, MI. He studied psychology while completing his pre-dental curriculum at the University of Michigan, graduating in 2001.  He stayed at U of M for his dental education, finishing first in his dental class and graduated in 2005. Upon graduation, Dr. Ker was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Fraternity, was awarded the Samuel D. Harris award for excellence in Pediatric Dentistry, and a Michigan Dental Foundation Scholarship.
Following his dental training, Dr. Ker immediately pursued formal education in orthodontics at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He received a specialty certificate and masters degree in Oral Biology in April 2008.
He has presented his research locally and nationally.  His research interests include patient expectations of orthodontic treatment and their perception of what makes an ideal smile.  His masters thesis on this topic was …published as the cover article in the Journal of the American Dental Association in 2008.
Dr. Ker is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Michigan and American Dental Associations, and the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Ker joined the practice in the spring of 2008 and became a partner in the fall of 2009.
