Dr. Alexander Martin Aboka, MD

Alexander M. Aboka, MD, MPH, is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopy, sports medicine and shoulder and knee reconstructive surgery.
Dr Aboka is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
He holds a Doctor of Medicine and a Master in Public Health degrees from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Aboka completed Orthopaedic Surgery Residency training at the University of New Mexico, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the world-renowned Cincinnati Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, under the tutelage of Dr Frank Noyes, one of the most acclaimed and influential arthroscopic knee and ACL surgeons in a generation.
Dr Aboka has extensive training in sports medicine and athletic injury management. He utilizes the most advanced arthroscopic techniques for the knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle joints, as well as complex reconstructive techniques for shoulder and knee instability and cartilage damage.
He performs …full, partial and patello-femoral knee replacement, and total, partial and reverse shoulder replacement procedures.
Dr Aboka has a special interest in arthroscopic management of hip disorders of the athlete, including femoro-acetabular impingement, labral tears, snapping hip and tendon tears.
He has extensive experience working with athletes at all levels, providing sports medicine care for the University of New Mexico Lobos, New Mexico Mustangs Hockey, Hampton Roads Whalers Hockey and the Cincinnati Bengals.
