Dr. Ghavami completed his Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. This is considered to be one of the top Plastic Surgery training programs in the United States as many of the most innovative leaders in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery teach at this institution and are dedicated to producing Plastic Surgeons that contribute and “give back” to this unique specialty. Furthermore, it is the home of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal; the most widely read Plastic Surgery Journal in the world. Dr. Ghavami also completed advanced fellowship training in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery at UTSW as well as a Congenital Hand Fellowship at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, both in Dallas. He earned his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin Medical School after completing his undergraduate education at the University of California-Irvine.
