Dr. Badr Ratnakaran completed his fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry and residency in General Psychiatry at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Prior to that, Dr. Ratnakaran had more than 8 years experience in mental health in his home country of India. He has won numerous awards and accolades during his training, and is involved in multiple scholarly projects and leadership roles at the institutional, state and national level. His clinical practice currently focuses on mental illness in older adults and medically complex patients, along with teaching medical students and trainees from various medical professions.
