Dr. Bidhan Bihari Das, MD

Dr. Das is the newest surgeon to join the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Houston and the Methodist Center for Restorative Pelvic Medicine. He is a native Houstonian and a proud Summa Cum Laude graduate of Rice University. After Rice University he received his medical education and MD degree from the Yale University School of Medicine. His general surgery residency training was conducted at Harvard Medical School – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He completed fellowship training in his native Houston with the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Houston. He has been trained in both complex open and minimally-invasive operative approaches as well as endoscopic procedures. Prior to focusing on surgery, Dr. Das served as a software architecture consultant and worked in private software investment capital-raising. Academically, he has been a Research Fellow for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Harvard Medical School – Massachusetts General Hospital, and he has served as Chairman of …the American Physician Scientist Association. At Harvard Medical School, Dr. Das was teaching faculty of medical students and junior surgical residents while winning several academic prizes in academic competitions. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
