Carlos Guerra, Jr., M.D. received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Texas A & M University in 1985. He received his Doctorate in Medicine from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1989. He completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry from Baylor College of Medicine in 1992 and his fellowship in Child Psychiatry from Baylor College of Medicine in 1994. He is board certified in both. Dr. Guerra was the Medical Director for the Children%u2019s and Adolescent Unit at Spring Shadows Glen from 1995 to 1999. While Medical Director for the Children%u2019s and Adolescent Unit, Dr. Guerra was appointment Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Division of Child Psychiatry for Baylor College of Medicine. He was the Medical Director for Spring Shadows Glen from 1999 to 2000. He also served as Chief of Staff at Spring Shadows Glen in 1999. He has served as the Medical Director for the Memorial-Hermann Rapid Psychiatric Response Team since 2000. He has been …on the clinical staff at PaRC since its inception in November 2000. In August 2008, Dr. Guerra was appointed Medical Director for Adolescent Psychiatric Services at PaRC and works exclusively with chemically dependent adolescents. He is in private practice and has been involved in numerous clinical pharmaceutical research trials. He supervises medical students from UTMB and nurse practitioner students for several different programs. Dr. Guerra is bilingual and is fluent in English and Spanish. He is married and has one daughter. He is actively involved with his church.
