Dr. Charles William Hartin, MD

Dr. Hartin is primarily a clinical pediatric surgeon and delivers surgical care to Texas Children’s Health Centers in Cy-Fair, West Houston, and The Woodlands, in addition to his practice at the medical center campus. He has special interests and training in minimally invasive surgery, including using the fewest and smallest incisions for procedures on the gall bladder, appendix, stomach, colon, intestines, spleen, hernias, and other organs. His other clinical interests include neonatal surgery, oncology, chest wall deformities, complicated abdominal wall defects, and trauma. His goal is to provide superior surgical outcomes for his patients, in the setting most convenient to their families and maintain the highest patient and family satisfaction. Having two of his own children requiring emergency surgery right after birth, he has a unique understanding of what parents go through when a child has surgery. He believes being a physician at Texas Children’s Hospital gives him the …resources and tools to deliver the world famous care that the medical center is known for – the same care he would expect for his own children.
Dr. Hartin also enjoys educating and training the next generation of surgeons within the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery to deliver the same innovative, compassionate, and family centered care as the surgeon for whom the department is named.
Dr. Hartin is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and in Pediatric Surgery.
