Dr. Bruno completed her pediatric residency training at Thomas Jefferson University/duPont Childrens Health Program in 2006 and her neonatology fellowship training at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia in 2010. She worked as a neonatologist at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia for one year after her fellowship training. In 2010, Dr. Bruno received recognition from Childrens Hospital of Philadelphias “Delivers Excellence” Program. She became a neonatologist at The Childrens Hospital at Montefiore in August 2011. Dr. Brunos research interests include evaluating the effects of hyperoxia and nitric oxide on the neonatal brain, which she studied in an in vitro mouse model. She also studied the risk factors and short-term outcomes of term and near-term infants with intracranial hemorrhage. Beyond study of the neonatal brain, she has a great interest in the practice and implementation of simulation-based learning in neonatology training. Her future research plans are to evaluate …neurodevelopmental outcomes of patients with congenital heart disease and a history of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
