Mood disorders affect the whole person, from their thoughts and emotions to their family life and physical health. Full recovery is possible, and there are many effective treatments to choose from including medication, therapy, light-boxes, supplements and dietary and lifestyle approaches.
I supervise a group practice with offices in Greensboro and Winston-Salem NC. We specialize in careful diagnostic assessments and evidence-based treatments.
My interest in psychiatry grew out of personal experience with close friends who have had mood disorders. I started working in the field at age 18 as a research assistant at the National Institute of Mental Health. From there I went on to complete medical school at Yale and residency at Cornell and Duke Medical Centers.
