Dr. Cassidy is a ninth generation native Floridian. He was born and raised in Lakeland and graduated from Lakeland Senior High School.  Dr. Cassidy received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College in North Carolina and his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Cassidy completed internship and residency training in Psychiatry at the University of South Florida where he was Chief Resident of Psychiatry. Dr. Cassidy completed Fellowship training in Forensic Psychiatry at Yale University. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Cassidy has completed over one thousand Forensic Evaluations and testified in over one hundred and fifty cases in State and Federal Courts.  Dr. Cassidy is committed to law enforcement and conducts fitness for duty evaluations, critical incident evaluations, debriefing counseling and risk assessment for Sheriff offices and other law …enforcement agencies throughout Central Florida and the West Coast.
Dr. Cassidy is dedicated to providing cutting edge clinical care while expanding access to as many patients as possible.  Dr. Cassidy was one of the first Neurostar TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) providers in the state of Florida back in 2009.  Dr. Cassidy was the largest private practice provider of Spravato in Florida for over 2 years after its launch in 2019.  Dr. Cassidy continues to be a pioneer in the field of Psychiatry by inventing and developing KetaMist® in 2021.
