Dr. David Rustad has provided pediatric surgical care in this Children?s Hospital setting for more than 25 years while working for Pediatric Surgical Associates. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and then served a surgery residency at the University of Colorado in Denver. He completed his pediatric surgery fellowship at Babies Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.
Over the span of his career, Dr. Rustad has performed surgical procedures for more than 11,000 infants and children. Pediatric surgery incorporates a wide spectrum of problems. Areas of special interest include surgery of newborn infants, pediatric oncology, and the surgery of congenital anomalies. In large part due to the influence of his mentors in training, Dr. Rustad has a substantial experience in the surgical care of pediatric liver and biliary conditions.
