Dr. David Lee Robaczewski, MD

Dr. Robaczewski was born on Ellsworth Air Force Base in Meade County South Dakota. He moved to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC and later graduated from Millbrook High School in Raleigh, NC. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Upon graduation from ECU, Dr. Robaczewski received his MD from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his general surgery internship and residency programs at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC and was the Bradshaw Fellow of Surgical Research from 1992-1993 and chief resident from 1995-1996. Dr. Robaczewski then completed a two year fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the University of Virginia.
After completion of his surgical training, Dr. Robaczewski returned to Raleigh and joined Carolina Cardiovascular Surgical Associates. He practices at …both Wake Medical Center and Rex Hospital. Dr. Robaczewski’s practice includes all aspects of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery. He is also certified in using the DaVinci surgical robot.
Dr. Robaczewski is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association. Dr. Robaczewski is an active reservist in the US Army Medical Corps with a rank of major.
Dr. Robaczewski and his wife, Susan, have five children. They are all avid sports enthusiasts.
