Dr. Schwager received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and his bachelors degree in history and sociology of science from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a family practice residency at the University of Arizona, where he served as Chief Resident his final year. Board certified in family medicine and holds a certificate of added qualifications in Geriatrics. Dr. Schwager has been practicing in Tucson since 1986 and joined Carondelet Medical Group in 1995. He has served as the groups medical director and was chairman of the Arizona Medical Board from 2003-2004. Dr. Schwager is also a faculty member of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Schwager is married and has three children. A native Tucsonan, he enjoys fine dining, music and working out.
