Dr. Blasingame’s passion for dentistry started when he was only fifteen years old. His interest was sparked when he was a sophomore at Foothill High School on a mission trip to Mexico with Neighborhood Church. It was on this trip that he met Dr. Holpuch and several other Redding dentists. He started working for Dr. Holpuch that same year sterilizing instruments, cleaning operatories, and stocking the shelves. He was captivated. As much as he loved dentistry then, he loves it even more now. To provide you with the highest quality of care, he attended University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. After completing his general dentistry education he continued on for specialty training. He attended a dual certificate, three-year Periodontics residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and at the Veterans Administration Hospital. In residency he learned specialized surgical techniques to save teeth and to replace missing teeth with dental implants. If an …emergency was to occur in our office, Dr. Blasingame is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Dr. Blasingame has advanced training in the following areas. After completing the required education for a periodontist, Dr. Blasingame became a Board Certified Periodontist. Board certification is the highest achievement to attain in the field of Periodontics. Currently, he serves as the treasurer for the Northern California Dental Society (NCDS), is the co-director for the Redding Advanced Dental Studies Forum (RADSF), adjunct faculty at University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, and is a speaker nationally on various topics in periodontics.
