Allergy treatment goals are to improve quality of life and avoid complications like sinusitis and asthma. By identifying what symptoms you experience and how they affect your activities, a treatment regimen can be formulated to minimize how the symptoms interfere with school, work, or leisure. My own experience with medications and allergy injections enables me to prescribe a plan using both medication and non-drug options to maximize effectiveness and minimize side effects. I also educate the patient about their condition: patients follow treatment plans better by thoroughly understanding their disease, the reasons to treat it and the possible side effects.
