Gerardo is a Licensed Therapist with 15 years of experience in the mental health field. People and colleagues tend to describe him as open, calming, empathic, and a fearless advocate of my clients. His approach to therapy incorporates multiple perspectives based on your personal goals, which aim to enhance the mind-body-spirit connection, nurture personal growth, promote healing, and overcome challenges. Gerardo uses mainly integrative and humanistic therapeutic approaches to therapy, combining insight and skills-based frameworks. His work also incorporates a psychoeducational component that aims to help you construct new ways of organizing your feelings, coping skills, behaviors, and relationships. He works collaboratively with everyone integrating the most beneficial approaches to their unique situation. Gerardo is a therapist working for over 15 years, internationally (in Mexico) and in the USA with adults. He has extensive experience in treating mood and anxiety disorders; …trauma recovery; PTSD; mental health and HIV; substance abuse/dual diagnosis; acculturation/transcultural issues, and ADHD. He attended Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City earning a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Child/Educational Psychology and I received a master’s in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University (NH campus) in 2003.
