Dr. Gregory Michael Mundis, MD

Greg Mundis, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon who has joined Behrooz Akbarnia, MD, and Ramin Bagheri, MD, as a new staff physician at the San Diego Center for Spinal Disorders in La Jolla, specializing in cervical spine surgery as well as adult and pediatric deformity (scoliosis, kyphosis and revision) surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri and completed an orthopedic residency at Oklahoma University. He finished his training in spine surgery under the direction of Dr. Akbarnia in La Jolla. Research is very important to Dr. Mundiss practice as he feels that the study of patients and their outcome will lead to improvement in care. Dr. Mundis has had a productive academic year, completing two book chapters and publishing an article on adult scoliosis, and having 10 research projects presented at numerous national and international meetings throughout the last year.
