Dr. Gudrun Aspelund, MD

Dr. Aspelund received her BA in Physics/Mathematics from College of Reykjavik, Iceland and her MD from University of Iceland Medical School, Iceland. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery for Columbia University, Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery at Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital of New York-Presbyterian. As an attending surgeon she sees patients for prenatal consultation for congenital diaphragmatic hernia and she takes care of several babies each year with this condition. she manages a congenital diaphragmatic hernia multidisciplinary follow up clinic where she sees congenital diaphragmatic hernia patients of various ages every month in close collaboration with other specialists. Her further education in biostatistics enables her as well to contribute to data analysis and manuscript writing. Dr. Aspelund is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow.
