Dr. Burkholder received his B.A. with Honors in 1999 from University of Manitoba. He received his M.D. degree from New York University School of Medicine in 2003. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga in 2009. He then completed colorectal fellowship in 2010 at the University of Texas, Houston. He worked at Alaska Colorectal Surgery from 2010 to 2014. He opened Empire State Colon & Rectal Surgery, LLC in January 2015.
