My son usually hates doctor visits, but he actually doesn’t mind seeing Dr. Costa. He said Dr. Costa talks to him like a person, not just a kid. He listens. That alone has made a huge difference for our family. You can tell he’s been doing this a long time, he just gets teenagers in a way most people don’t. We’re very grateful we found him.
Dr. Costa is the reason my 14-year-old finally stopped rolling her eyes at doctor visits. I dragged her there after weeks of mysterious stomach pains (and yes, I assumed it was ‘just anxiety’). But he didn’t just dismiss it—he spent 20 minutes asking HER questions, not just me, and actually got her to talk. Turned out it was a mild food intolerance, not drama. He explained the science to her like she was smart (which she is) and even made her laugh with some terrible soccer puns (he saw her Messi phone case). Three months later, she’s pain-free and asked to go back for her physical. If you’ve got a kid who ‘hates doctors,’ try this guy. He speaks ‘teen’ without being cringe.
