My goal is to always provide patient centered care. I feel that only an individual can treat their own disease and that my responsibility in their care is to educate them about the disease process and offer them options. The patient’s responsibility is to understand their disease, accept that it exists and let me know which option they wish to pursue. An individual can control their illness only if they take an active role in their care. I always strive to minimize costs and the number of medications an individual needs. However, if the use of a specific medication is warranted, I will discuss the reasons behind the current recommendations for the use of that medication including the benefits and the risks.
