Dr. Jessica Matthews, MD

Dr. Jessica Matthews is a staff physician who is board certified in general psychiatry. Dr. Matthew’s practice focuses primarily on medication management. She typically offers this in addition to applicable supportive and cognitive behavioral focused therapy in 30-minute follow-up visits. However, Dr. Matthews may believe that additional therapy is needed and asks that you bring a therapist into your care team to provide the best outcome.
She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, in San Antonio, TX, before moving to Honolulu, HI to complete her residency in psychiatry at Tripler Army Medical Center. After completing training, she was stationed at Fort Hood, TX. She worked a staff physician in the inpatient unit at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center before becoming the inpatient medical director. Then, she moved on to be a staff physician and then clinic chief in the outpatient embedded behavioral health clinics. She continued …as a staff physician after leaving the military.
While having treated a variety of patients, her primary focus has been treating adults in the areas of depression, anxiety and stress/trauma-related disorders. .
