Dr. Caruso was born and raised on Long Island, New York. His parents, Italian immigrants, still maintain a family owned and operated restaurant they opened when they moved to the States in 1968. Dr. Caruso’s strong commitment to family and care for his patients comes from his many years in the family business.
Dr. Caruso completed an internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at Newark. He then continued his training one additional year as a research fellow. During Dr. Caruso’s two yearlong fellowships he learned the most advanced minimally invasive and open vascular surgical techniques and authored several papers on the effects of trauma induced hemorrhagic shock.
Dr. Caruso is committed to providing a comprehensive approach to vascular care with the goal of achieving the best outcome possible for each patient.
