Dr. Hinnant, board certified in family medicine, received her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed the Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Practice in New York, where she was chief resident during her final year and served on several committees. During her residency, Dr. Hinnant worked at the Center for Health and Healing, as well as Health Care for the Homeless, where she participated in research studies. She is a member of the AMA, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Medical Society of Virginia, and participates in the Longitudinal Generalist Mentorship program for medical students at EVMS. She has been accepted to present research at the North American Primary Care Research Group, the American Public Health Association national conference, the Northeast Regional Society for Teachers of Family Medicine meeting, and the NY State Academy of Family Medicine.
