Dr. Anderson specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all gynecologic malignancies, complicated non-cancerous gynecologic problems, and premalignant diseases; for these, she utilizes colposcopy, laser and LEEP. , she has a special interest in the detection and treatment of cervical dysplasia in HIV-positive women; in the late 1990s, she conducted a 5-year study on the subject that was funded by the American Cancer Society. At present, she is principal investigator for a study of time-resolved imaging of neoplastic cervical acetowhitening, also a technique for detection of cervical abnormalities. An exemplary teacher, Dr. Anderson received the 2003 National Faculty Award of the ACOG Council on Residency Education, which is bestowed by the departments residents. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, and the Metropolitan Gynecologic Cancer Society.
