After graduating summa cun laude from Marquette University, Dr. Buesing received her medical degree from Duke University Medical School. She completed her residency program in internal medicine at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas and was then sent to Walter Reed Army Medical Center where she served as an Assistant Chief of Infectious Diseases. After four years in private practice, Dr. Buesing joined the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research where she established an Infectious Disease division. She then joined DuPont Pharmaceutical Company where she was head of regulatory affairs for cardiovascular and neurology drug development.
