I grew up as the eldest of six girls in a small town in Connecticut. I did research in the Department of Cellular Biology at Yale before attending medical school and completing my residency in Ohio. I also treated Navajo patients during a four-year scholarship obligation at Shiprock Navajo Indian Hospital in New Mexico. I have practiced internal medicine in Spokane since 1989.
