Dr. Zornitzer is a general orthopaedist with specialization in limitation and dysfunction of the hand and upper extremity, as well as occupational medicine/workers’ comp injury.
He treats a range of conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve compression, and fractures of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand, and has extensive experience performing arthroscopy of the wrist and small joint arthroscopy. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and earned the distinguished subspecialty certification of additional qualification (CAQ) in hand and upper extremity.
His expertise has benefited practice patients and community residents alike. Outside the office, he has served as team physician for many high school and college level football and basketball teams. Currently, he provides medical coverage for Mount Saint Mary College’s Division 1 men’s and women’s basketball teams, and is a consulting hand surgeon for both the NJ Ironmen indoor …professional soccer team and the New Jersey Rockhoppers professional ice hockey team.
Prior to joining The Center for Orthopaedics, Dr. Zornitzer treated patients with hand and upper extremity disorders at Advanced Centers for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Maryland. He earned his medical degree, with distinction, from The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and completed an orthopaedic residency, as chief resident, at the prestigious Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, as well as a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery and microsurgery at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Zornitzer holds clinical appointments at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Short Hills Surgery Center. He is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He was named a Top Doctor in orthopaedics and hand surgery in 2010 by New Jersey Monthly magazine.
