Dr. Matthew Wayne Werner, MD

I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in history. From there I went on to attend the University of Washington School of Medicine. I then completed three more years of specialized training in a family medicine residency program within the UW system, where I served as chief resident in my final year.
I admire medicine because at its roots, it is fundamentally a helping profession. I appreciate working within Family Care Network because I value our goal of remaining independent, which provides me the autonomy to practice how I feel will best suit my patients. Having grown up in Bellingham, I am thrilled to provide health care in the community that I have always considered home. I practice comprehensive family medicine and take pride in maximizing my patients’ time and health care dollars by providing an extensive array of medical services under one familiar roof.
I am married to my wonderful wife Jennifer and we have two amazing sons. I am very happy to be …raising my family in such an incredible place. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and enjoying the outdoors, especially boating in the San Juans. I also love travelling and experiencing cultures that are different from my own.
