Dr. Michael Francis Wind, DO

Dr. Michael Wind is a Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialty in hip, knee, and shoulder joint reconstructive surgery. Dr. Wind is Board Certified and Board Recertified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He has expertise in primary and revision total hip, total knee, and shoulder replacement, as well as minimally invasive procedures and the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing Technique. He also provides care for general orthopedic conditions, including fractures, sprains, and musculoskeletal issues.
Dr. Wind graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a Traditional Rotating Internship and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center at Michigan State University. He elected to further his expertise with a Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery of the Shoulder, Hip, and Knee. Under the preceptorship of Drs. Richard Kyle and Ramon Gustilo, Dr. Wind completed his Fellowship at …Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Wind holds an Academic Appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties.
Dr. Wind is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, and Michigan Osteopathic Association.
When not practicing orthopaedic medicine, Dr. Wind enjoys spending time with his wife and children. His interests include fly-fishing, upland bird hunting, and golf.
