Dr. Casale is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Casale provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care of foot and ankle conditions including, but not limited to, sports injuries, fractures, arthritis, and deformity. He is also skilled in the latest techniques in total ankle replacement.
Dr. Casale grew up in Cary, NC and began his academic career at the University of North Carolina, where he graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Dr. Casale then completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. During his residency. Dr. Casale was awarded the Resident of the Year award in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as well as the Edward Frohlich Writing Award for outstanding resident research.
He was also named a resident scholar by the American …Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. After his residency, he completed a fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery at the University of Virginia. Dr. Casale has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters, and has given multiple podium and poster presentations at national and international conferences.
He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). Outside of work, Dr. Casale lives in Raleigh with his wife and daughter. He enjoys being outside, watching sports, and attempting to learn how to play golf.
