Dr. Mona Sazgar, MD

I am a board certified epileptologist and Associate Clinical Professor, Neurology at the University of California, Irvine. I have special interest and expertise in management of women with catamenial epilepsy and all patients with medically refractory epilepsy. Our clinical trials at the University of California, Irvine include a principal investigator initiated trial for women with epilepsy. The trial is actively enrolling women of childbearing age who have seizures fluctuating with their hormonal status and worsening seizures at certain times of their menstrual cycles. I also perform pre-surgical evaluation including inpatient epilepsy monitoring to determine epilepsy surgery candidates.
