Dr. Nicholas S. Papakonstantinou, MD

Nicholas Papakonstantinou, M.D. is a Board Eligible Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in Surgery of the Spine.
Dr. Papakonstantinou grew up in the Detroit area, his father an autoworker and his mother a housewife. His parents stressed the value and importance of higher education and instilled a tremendous work ethic in their sons.
Dr. Papakonstantinou attended Wayne State University for his undergraduate education and after graduating with honors, was accepted to Wayne State School of Medicine where he received the foundation of his medical education. He continued to excel in medicine and acquired skills that would help him decide on a career in Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Papakonstantinou did his internship at Wayne Sate University/Detroit Medical Center and completed his orthopaedic residency at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic and was Chief Orthopaedic Resident in his final year. There he learned the skills to become a technically sound surgeon and a …compassionate physician treating all types of orthopaedic conditions. At the end of his five-year residency, he chose to pursue further training and gain further expertise in the treatment of spinal conditions. He acquired further skills in the treatment of the spine at Orthopaedics Indianapolis/Indiana University Spine fellowship and concentrated on treating the spine with minimally-invasive techniques.
Dr. Papakonstantinou then decided to return to the Detroit area with his wife and son to serve the community in which he was raised. He treats a large range of orthopaedic conditions and is fellowship trained in the treatment of the spine. He is pleased to carry on the quality tradition as a member of Rochester Hills Orthopaedics.
